Picture yourself here

Hi there,

We first visited Turkey in 1999 and immediately fell in love with the country, the people and the lovely climate. We bought our first place, a small garden apartment in Kalkan a year later, and after some fun times there decided to have our own purpose-designed holiday dream home built when we came across a nice plot of land in the nearby area of Kisla, just across the bay from Kalkan town. It’s a slightly quieter location which suits us just fine. We enjoy the tranquil setting knowing that the bustling town of Kalkan is a short water bus ride away. Overseeing the construction, mostly from back here in the UK, was a challenging but very rewarding experience as you can imagine. And now, having retired a few years ago after careers in the medical sector, we are lucky enough to get to enjoy our lovely villa 3 or 4 times a year. But it deserves to be utilised more frequently and we have found great pleasure in letting the property to some really nice people over the years – families, couples, and we’d like nothing more than to entice you along too.

However in the last year or so many people were put off visiting because of the political problems in far off parts of Turkey but we are delighted that people are flocking back to this lovely region again. So confident were we that visitors would return that we invested in a lot of recent improvements at Villa Kingfisher including two completely renovated en-suites, a new awning to offer extra shade cover and loads of new sun lounger covers and lovely new pool towels. Pleasingly bookings for the new season are looking strong but there is still availability, hopefully, at the dates you want and at some fantastic prices, representing tremendous value when compared with most other Mediterranean destinations. And as a final incentive, the £ to Turkish lira exchange rate is still incredibly strong so your holiday spending money goes so much further here.

We hope this website tells you everything you need to know about our home itself, the region and its rich attractions, enough to make you want to hire the villa for your own delightful Turkish holiday adventure. So please just click through to About the villa to find out everything about Villa Kingfisher itself and all the other interesting features (especially the blog section with all the latest news) and, hopefully, get set for that holiday of a lifetime. We have a feeling that the first time you visit will inspire you to want to come back again – exactly as we felt all those years ago.

Oh and many thanks for stopping by the Villa Kingfisher website. Do let us know if you like it.
